Key Components
  • Entrance Facilities:

  1. Secure connections to service providers

  2. Protection devices and transition from outside to inside plant cabling

  • Main Telecom Room (MTR):

  1. Climate-controlled equipment hub for all communication infrastructure

  2. Houses main cross-connect and can include intermediate and horizontal cross-connects

  • Backbone Cabling:

  1. High-capacity interconnection between MTR, IDFs, and service entry points

  2. Supports voice, data, video, and building management systems

  • Intermediate Distribution Frames (IDFs):

  1. Strategically located termination points for horizontal and backbone cables

  2. Houses patch panels, connecting hardware, and equipment in a controlled environment

  • Horizontal Cabling:

  1. Connects work-area outlets to IDFs or MTRs

  2. Includes patch panels, outlets, and up to 90m (295 ft) of structured cable

  • Work-Area Outlets:

  1. Final connection point for end-user devices such as computers, phones, and printers

  2. Fully compliant terminations ensure performance and longevity
